Coffee has been a popular beverage for YEARS! Not only as a pick me up but, because for many it is just plain tasty! Especially with what all they can do with it now. One of the discussions is: Bad for you or good for you?? that is the question. Now the ” they say” experts can’t even agree on this one. LOL Many individuals express concern about the possible negative side effects of drinking coffee. While current research suggests that there are indeed some negative health effects associated with the popular beverage, coffee drinkers may be surprised to learn that there are actually more health benefits associated with coffee than there are risks… see what I mean. This site has lots of interesting info including it can decrease risk of Alzhiemers. https://www.symptomfind.com/nutrition-supplements/the-pros-and-cons-of-coffee/
Like the Word says in 1 Corinthians 6:12 “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be enslaved by anything.” This is exactly how you need to look at Coffee. Yes indeed there Are benefits to our health found in coffee. However, all of us being uniquely designed individuals you need to be in tune with Your Body and keep in mind what resonates with Your body depends on your overall health, self control (not only related to volume you are drinking but, financial self control – coffee houses aren’t cheap) , & what you are loading in that cup of coffee.
Personally, my fav coffee, which I have enjoyed One cup a day for Years and have no plans of ever giving it up, is that down south Louisiana Chicory coffee. It is a coffee substitute cultivated from the Cichorium intybus plant, has historically been used as a medicine for wounds and several health conditions, including diabetes. While not all of its purported benefits are substantiated with scientific evidence, chicory coffee does offer many short-term and long-term potential health benefits. It may protect the body from damage and lower the risk of certain chronic diseases… It contains a Sufficient intake of soluble dietary fiber, an essential nutrient, is associated with reduction of cholesterol and blood pressure, the improvement of healthy gastrointestinal function, and several other digestive and health benefits. According to a February 2010 review by “Comprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety,” chicory root contains a soluble fiber known as inulin. This fiber protects against the accumulation of free cholesterol and provides other metabolic benefits, such as the promotion of iron absorption. In addition to its use in coffee substitutes, inulin is extracted from chicory for use as a sugar substitute because of its low caloric value. And this list goes on. https://www.livestrong.com/article/422673-what-are-the-benefits-of-chicory-coffee/
More good info on Chicory the root of Endive. https://www.orleanscoffee.com/how_to/what-is-chicory/ There is just nothing like a French pressed cup of Community Chicory Coffee or French Market Chicory Coffee.
Whatever you cup of tea or coffee may be just remember moderation is key: “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God?”
And be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day in behind that lovely coffee!
Shalom !
